Mr. Lin is in charge of our litigation department and the managing partner of our firm’s criminal defense and investigations group, covering a wide range of commercial and criminal litigation with a particular focus on financial disputes involving investment banks, corporate and regulatory investigations, white collar criminal defense and internal investigations, securities and complex civil litigation, and complex cross-border proceedings.  

Mr. Lin is highly regarded for his ability to guide sensitive global investigations, money laundering and corruption work. He is extremely pragmatic in working through very difficult legal issues in a practical way with a clear understanding of the law and clients appreciate his approachable manner and extensive experience in the area with a genuine depth of experience, as an “efficient and knowledgeable practitioner with well-developed interpersonal skills.

Besides practicing civil and criminal laws in general, Mr. Lin has in particular represented prominent individuals, corporations and financial institutions in numerous high-profile matters involving financial derivatives, securities market manipulation, antitrust, insider trading, money laundering, securities fraud and tax fraud.  He has also represented local representatives of the people as well as high-ranking government officials to defend their criminal cases, represented major construction companies to defend criminal, civil and administrative cases involving the public constructions they undertake, and taken legal actions for the celebrities against deformation or libel by media and for civil damages to be compensated. Worthy of mention, he has been entrusted by a family member of a business tycoon in Taiwan to successfully defend his probate matters.  

Mr. Lin, owing to his familiarity with the area of regulations with regard to corporate enterprises, has been retained as a legal advisor to several major OTC companies or acted as independent directors of the board of public companies.  Because of that, he is quite experienced in dealing with commercial disputes and corporate governances issues. Mr. Lin is highly enthusiastic and has a personal interest in returning to the society and playing a significant role in teaching law and undertaking pro bono services. Currently, he offers courses in criminal laws at Shi-Hsin University and serves at the Legal Aid Foundation to help the financially vulnerable. Once a week, he would provide legal services to the members of the local legislative body, to help the general public with their pressing matters, and Mr. Lin has earned the respect, trust, and appreciation from his clients.
